Description
That every religion (religio) is first a mythical, then a mystical connection that binds man to the powers of the universe, then to the universe itself, and finally to the principle of the universe — is the result of all religious research; but what we want to illuminate is the way this relationship was woven. At the end of our research it will be obvious that the religious relationship was modeled on the analogy of societatis humanae, human society: people's relationships, friendships and hostilities were first extended to explain physical facts and the forces of nature, metaphysical explanation of its governance. * The social connection with animals, with spirits, with good and evil spirits, with the forces of nature, with the supreme principle of nature: all this is nothing but a different form of universal sociology in which religions sought to explain all things with the help of which physical facts , they sought to explain thunder, storm, sickness, death, as well as metaphysical relationships — our origins, destinies — or moral relationships — virtue, sin, law, and retaliation.
