History of world literature

After the history of Hungarian literature, which was re-pressed in 2019, the history of world literature is now being renewed. The work, first published in 1941, was not spared political censorship: the chapter on contemporary Russian literature in the Rákosi era was completely rewritten in the spirit of enthusiasm for the results of the Stalinist Soviet Union, but later editions also made major changes to the text. The new edition of the guide to world literature, which is still fresh and exciting today, is based on the original version of the text that appeared in the life of Antal Szerb. The work is published with notes and a study by Eszter Pálfy, who directed it for the press.
